I have now been qualified as an engineer at Barloworld for 6 months and feel that I am enjoying my time with Barloworld. I am learning my trade as an engineer in a friendly and helpful atmosphere. Now I am a qualified engineer I feel that I have took on extra responsibility of handling my own jobs well and I am continuing learning and enjoying the challenges that each day brings.
As well as learning the hands on side of the job whilst working in the workshop here at Warrington. I have also enjoyed learning the theory side of engineering during internal course delivered by the Barloworld dedicated Technical Training Instructors and at my time spent at the City of Bristol College, where I have studied throughout my apprenticeship on block release basis.
The training I have received in my time from Barloworld I have gained some invaluable skills in many different areas such as engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and now electronic control circuits. Together with my knowledge of the basic and the more complicated systems I feel confident in my ability to troubleshoot and progress as an engineer building my experience in the coming years.
Having completed my apprenticeship I have decided to continue with my education and with total backing from Barloworld I am studying at the moment for my BTEC HNC in electrical engineering at my local college at Wigan & Leigh. I feel this will be a challenging, but worthwhile course to complete as it will teach me many different skills that I can use in the daily workplace. This will make me a better engineer by allowing me a greater understanding of machine components and more complicated systems such as wire guided machines.
